Engineered Wood Products Cutter

Taiga Building Products Ltd. — Sanger, CA has a FULL-TIME, PERMANENT opening for an Engineered Wood Products Cutter. The successful candidate must have experience with engineered wood products and cutting machinery, as well as a commitment to safety and quality in a production environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate cutting machinery to cut engineered wood products (e.g., plywood, laminated veneer lumber) to precise specifications.
• Measure, mark, and inspect materials for accuracy before cutting.
• Ensure all cutting operations adhere to safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Maintain and operate equipment safely, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Work closely with the production team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow inventory management procedures to ensure materials are properly handled and stored.
• Assist in other tasks as required to support production operations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience with engineered wood products and cutting machinery (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and precision in cutting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Safety-focused with a commitment to following workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
• Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems for inventory and reporting.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Experience in woodworking or carpentry is a plus.
• Conduct cyclical inventory counts as required to ensure accuracy and maintain proper stock levels.
• Demonstrated experience in the safe operation of small engine equipment, including chainsaws.
• Experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse or yard environment.
• Prior experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) with handheld computers to manage inventory and workflow processes.

COMPENSATION:

• Hourly salary: $17 – $22 (depending on experience)
